At the beginning of Parasoul's story, Rachel Wong hosts the 5 o'clock News from a studio in Canopolis, mentioning that Frank (presumably a fellow newscaster) has the night off. She reports on the numerous reported sightings of the new Skullgirl, Marie, as well as the capture of Scythana by Parasoul and the Black Egrets.
