[Left to Right] Leon, Eli, Toady, Slinker (Leader of Fishbone Gang) and Nadia Fortune
The Fishbone Gang was a band of four Dagonian thieves that had raised Ms. Fortune from when she was a kitten. They took her in their care after finding her as a stray loitering around Little Innsmouth. The gang used to hang out at Yu-Wan's restaurant all the time, which is where Minette and Ms. Fortune met and became friends. They were killed by Black Dahlia when they and Ms. Fortune took the Life Gem from Lorenzo. Now, Ms. Fortune wants to avenge them.
They all wear a fishbone symbol somewhere on their outfits.[specify]
Creation and development[]
In early lore before the game, the Fishbone Gang were rivals with Cerebella's performing group and a scrapped gang of thieves based on fairytale characters.[1]
Ms. Fortune's design and story were also different in early lore and the cause of her death is described as being the cause of some accident where she was decapitated yet "very lucky to survive, but apparently, very unlucky too" and after it the gods of the early universe solved the paradox by making it so she can detach her head.[2]
In an unused alternate ending for Ms. Fortune, she ignores Marie's warning about making a wish to restore dead friends and asks the Skull Heart to revive the rest of the Fishbone Gang. The Skull Heart grants this by transforming Ms. Fortune into the new Skullgirl, with the former Fishbone Gang as the first members of her undead army.
Role in the webtoon[]
Episode 9. They appear near the end of the story watching the fight between the Egrets, Medicis, and Skullgirl, and seem to be interested in how the head honcho survived being burned to a crisp.
Episode 10> They then are seen watching the fight between the Black Egrets, the Renoir Royal Guard, and Peacock's Gang. The leader then comments on how he can tell that Peacock is a tragic yet insane child who has experienced a great amount of torment, but is now strong enough to never let it happen again.
Members[]
- Sinker: A squat, piranha-based Dagonian with blue and orange skin wearing suspenders, an eyepatch and a hook in his mouth. He is the leader of the group.
- Toady: A burly, bandana-wearing yellow pufferfish-like Dagonian with spikes on his chin resembling a beard.
- Eli: A lanky, green eel-like Dagonian wearing an apron and wielding a large harpoon.
- Leon: A Dagonian resembling a humanoid lionfish with fins on their head and arms. He is shown to be red and pink in the webtoon.
- Nadia Fortune.
